Bread Pizza on a skillet, pan or griddle
This Bread Pizza Recipe is one of those snacks that you can make when you get pizza craving. All you need is a fresh loaf, a really good pizza sauce (I would definitely recommend a homemade pizza sauce) and some vegetables.
Bread: You can use any type of bread to make bread pizza such as whole wheat flour bread or white bread or multi grain bread or brown bread or sandwich bread. You can also use one day old roti.
Heating: Also use a heavy griddle or pan. If you use a griddle or skillet that is not heavy, the bread can burn from the bottom. Low heat is the key here as it slowly forms a nice golden crust at the base of the bread.
Base Sauce: Pizza sauce is commonly used to make pizza. But in this recipe you can use white sauce and even pesto sauce as the base sauce. The recipe uses pizza sauce. You can easily make tomato pizza sauce at home. I have shared the Bread Pizza Recipe here – Pizza Sauce.
Topping: For topping, you can use vegetables of your choice. I always stick to onions, tomatoes and capsicum (bell peppers). I also like to add some olives. Sometimes I also add boiled sweet corn. You can also use baby corn, sautéed mushrooms or sautéed spinach.
Serving Tip: Serve bread pizza plain or with pizza sauce or tomato ketchup.
